1. Background:

Gülümseme ve Zeytin Yardimlaşma ve Dayanişma Derneği  GvZ (Basmeh and Zeitooneh) is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization that has been supporting the most marginalized, desperate, and affected people since 2014. From the beginning, GvZ believes that its role is to create ways to empower those affected by developing their skills and reviving their sense of humanity and dignity. Through its community centers, GvZ provides women, youth, and marginalized groups with various humanitarian services such as relief aid, protection, education programs, and communication with other humanitarian actors on advocating for essential issues to bring to light. To this end, GvZ strives to continue honing people’s skills to participate in peacebuilding and actively advocate for a democracy that reflects a diverse and socially connected society.

2. Purpose:

Oversees the project’s overall technical work. In addition to following up on the team’s tasks, obtaining the necessary approvals and follow up for their tasks, and maintaining the security and safety of the team daily, support in preparing reports on the project.

3. Responsibilities:

  • Sitting and coordinating with HCM team to assess their needs and requirements.
  • Provide weekly briefing on the context for coordination, communication and access team.
  • Oversees the technical work of the Project team.
  • Following up with the daily tasks produced by the project team
  • Following up and providing guidance of project activities.
  • Establishing communication channel to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Identifying new opportunities for activity development and adjustments.
  • Establishing linkages with humanitarian coordination mechanisms and other field-based initiatives to ensure complementary and maximized impact, including the ICCG.
  • Channeling requests and information between humanitarian field officers, clusters and other stakeholders outside the coordination unit.
  • Provide guidance to project team on engaging with local stakeholders.
  • Organize with the project team AAP-related initiatives and ensure AAP compliance.
  • Lead on helping and organize capacity building initiatives conducted by project team.
  • Participation in the security management and the duty of care of project staff.
  • Lead the evaluation and the capacity development of project staff, taking into consideration the training of the humanitarian field officers and the rest of the project team.
  • Review and read all HFO products.
  • Support the HFO staff performance evaluation
  • Any other relevant task duty as identified by Line manager.

4. Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 4-5 years of proven experience in Projects implementation in NGOs or UN agencies
  • Strong experience in all coordination meetings in Turkey and NWS
  • supporting and mentoring multiple staff members
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

5. Skills and Languages

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • advanced reporting writing
  • Good experience in power bi
  • Proficiency in the internet and search tools.
  • Very good in English & fluent in Arabic (written and spoken).
