Middle East Region
RI operates in six countries in the Middle East region: Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and Yemen, with a focus on the four RI sector pillars: Health, WASH, Education and Economic Opportunity. We employ more than 4,000 staff (direct and indirect) in the Middle East region and implement a range of humanitarian and development programs valued at approximately $70 million USD on an annual basis.
Africa/ Asia Region
RI operates in seven countries in the Africa/Asia region: Afghanistan, , Iran, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, South Sudan, and Sudan, with a focus on the four RI sector pillars: Health, WASH, Education and Economic Opportunity. We employ more than 3,000 staff (direct and indirect) in the Africa/Asia region and implement a range of humanitarian and development programs valued at approximately $60 million USD on an annual basis.
- Job Profile
The finance assistant’s main focus will be on the relation with the HQ on the day to day payments in addition to the relation between Relief International with the banks in Türkiye including the review of the payments shared with involvement in the review and books keeping.
Your role will be review the payments submitted by the OPS, HR and programs departments, register them on the accounting system, and proceed with them thru either Türkiye based banks, PTT or the HQ. In addition, there will be a special focus on the communication with the Turkish government when submitting the reports and annexes. The filing will be an integral part of this role
You will lead the communication with the HQ regarding the payments paid through the banks, and ensure the payments are made in a timely manner. You will ensure having the backup all uploaded to the accounting system on a monthly basis, and the ones that should be shared with the CPA.

Accountability and Complexity
- Oversight of compliance procedures and accountability
- Ensure the project’s allocations are accurate for the payments submitted
Accounting
- Monthly Pool account clearance preparation
- Cash advance settlements preparation
- Prepaid account clearances preparation
- Assist in reviewing the monthly accruals right after the closure.
- Monthly field payments’ clearance posting
Cooperation
- Closely cooperate with the programs, HR and operations department on the payments flow to finance and to be paid after reviewing them.
- Tracking the payments released until they hit the end recipients’ accounts.
- Coordinate and collaborate with team members in preparing for the audit missions.
Filing
- Maintain a computerized and up-to-date filing system of the project.
- Ensuring safety and security of financial documents

Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role.
Essential criteria
- English Fluent (special focus on the productive ones)
- University degree in accounting, economic, management or any related specialization.
- 1-2 years’ experience in the finance field.
- Committed and able to work under pressure
Desirable criteria
- Experience in the humanitarian domain
- Medium level of Arabic language
- Basic knowledge about the Turkish taxes and SGK calculations.
