Summary of the position

The SAMS Project Officer is responsible for preparing and submitting Narrative reports and all related reports (incidents, to their assigned grants, for communicating with donor field offices, and for managing the day-to-day implementation of their assigned part of the grant.

 

Key relationships: 

Senior Manager Programs, Information Officer, Syria Field Senior Officer, HQ program officer.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Management and Report

  • coordinate the activities with field staff and health facilities and conduct periodic visits to Syria if necessary.
  • Hold regular meetings with HQ grants teams.
  • Communicate with responsible staff inside Syria.
  • Lead the preparation of all reports to donors as required by grant agreements, including narrative, financial, and end-of-grant reports. Submit all reports to HQ for review and work with HQ to finalize reports and to submit reports to donors.
  • Lead the collection of all documentation from inside Syria for reporting purposes.
  • Complete weekly situational reports and complete incident reports to document attacks on facilities.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with donor field offices and report information to HQ Grants Manager.
  • Assist headquarters with anti-terrorist checks – vendor information – before payments are made.
  • Prepare spending projection plans and adjust them as necessary.
  • Prepare grant implementation plan and adjust as necessary.
  • Be familiar with donor regulations and ensure project implementation is in accordance with donor regulations.
  • Work with the procurement team to fulfill grant procurement needs and requirements.
  • Work with health coordinators to ensure proper reporting for health indicators and for beneficiaries.
  • Work with the health coordinator, finance team, and HQ grants department to develop, write, and submit proposal narratives and budgets.

 

Representation

  • Represent SAMS in all relevant meetings with current and prospective grantees and donors.

Staff management

  • Delegate responsibilities to other individuals in the grants department.
  • Ensure that SAMS staff in the office in Syria are submitting reports and documentation on time.

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required:

  • A University Degree In Medical Science Field is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Health and nutrition project Officer is mandatory

Languages:

  • Fluent in Arabic language (Mother Tongue).
  • Advanced written and spoken English language.

CONTRACT CONDITIONS

The salary will be defined according to the SAMS Turkey Office salary scale.
